Morehead State University SpaceTrek Program, in partnership with TMC Technologies, is proud to announce that the West Virginia SpaceTrek Program will take place at West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC) in Buckhannon, West Virginia, July 12–25, 2026. SpaceTrek is a residential summer program in space systems engineering designed for young women entering 9th–12th grade or enrolling as first‑year college students. SpaceTrek participants complete a space-related science mission under the guidance of aerospace engineers and master STEM educators. SpaceTrek aims to empower young women to pursue career interests and explore college and career opportunities in aerospace. Participants will: · Be immersed in an empowering environment with female role models, where they will be motivated and exposed to space systems engineering · Participate in a complete space mission life cycle · Apply mathematics and scientific principles to aerospace applications · Make observations and predictions, collect and interpret data, and draw conclusions about the atmosphere · Build electronic devices that demonstrate the principles of circuits and electrical components · Read and interpret electrical schematics and printed circuit board layouts · Work in cooperative mission teams to build a small atmospheric (satellite-like) instrument · Calibrate a scientific instrument to produce accurate data · Produce antenna beam patterns using an anechoic chamber · Use Microsoft Excel to produce a graphical representation of data · Assemble and operate a portable satellite tracking station · Produce, prepare, and present a mission report to academic and industry professionals · Develop essential skills in cooperation, team building, communication, time management and action item prioritization · Develop a growth mindset necessary for being successful as a professional and well-rounded individual ELIGIBILITY · Rising 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade OR rising college freshmen · Completion of Algebra 1 APPLY NOW – tmctechnologies.com/spacetrek Students interested in attending SpaceTrek must submit an application with the contact information for an educator or community leader as a recommender.
